Cristy’s Council Race

 

7:30 - 8:30                     Registration for racers ($30, $10 with Greek Peak Season Pass, check or cash only) coaches and race volunteers in the Harriman A-frame

Cristy’s  Fun Run

 

7:30 -                            FUN RUN Registration. $30 ($10 for those with Greek Peak Season Pass).  Check or cash only.  NASTAR form must be filled out by the parent of the racer

 

8:15                              Lifts Open

 

9:30                              First Fun run on Cristy’s

4 runs total with each run immediately following the end of the previous run. Times will be announced but not recorded.

                                    Participation medals will be awarded after racer finishes their 4th run.

 

                                    Kids can run NASTAR all day

 

 

Cristy’s Seeding and Run Orders:     The start order will be randomized.  The run order will be J5 Girls, J5 Boys, J4 Girls, J4 Boys. The second run will be in their group but reverse order.  Late registrants run last both runs.  Registration is late if it is received after 1-25-08.

 

Second Run will begin one (1) hour after second course is set.

 

Awards will be approximately 45 minutes after the finish of the second run in the A frame.

Information and Rules

 

 

·        All racers competing in Cristy’s race must have current NYSSRA and USSA membership cards in hand.  On-site USSA applications will NOT be available.

·        All racers must conduct themselves in an appropriate manner.  Unsportsmanlike conduct, obscene language or disrespect to race personnel, Greek Peak Mountain staff or other skiers will result in sanction.

·        Ski brakes must be on and functional at all times.

·        Bibs must be worn and visible at all times, particularly during course inspection.  Bibs will be collected at the finish area at the end of the second run.

·        Lift tickets must be on goggle strap only.

·        Cutting into lift lines is permitted only with permission from race officials or Greek Peak Mountain staff.

·        Racers may inspect the course by climbing or side slipping it without skiing through the gates. Course inspection will commence at 8:15AM.  The course will be closed for access at 9:00AM and cleared by course officials for the first forerunner at 9:20AM. No movement on the race hill once the race started.  Any movement will be allowed through organized slip only, which will be initiated by Chief of Course.

·        In the event of interference on the course, the racer must immediately leave the course, notify the nearest Gatekeeper and proceed to the nearest Race Official – usually the Finish Referee – to request a provisional rerun.  Do not complete the run.

·        DSQ's will be posted immediately following each run on the notice board on the scoreboard.  A racer has 15 minutes from that time to make a formal protest.  The protest must be in writing and be must accompanied by a $25 protest bond.  Protests may be filed at the finish timing building.  If the protest is denied, the bond will be forfeited.

·        All FIS, USSA and NYSSRA rules are in effect.

·        Parent tickets will be on sale in the registration area in the A-frame for $34.00, payable by check or cash.
